Two Saline crew boats take bronze medals

Saline Crew Team places third in the Speakmon Memorial Regatta.  The Saline Crew team traveled to Dublin, Ohio to compete in the Speakmon Memorial Regatta over the weekend with boats entered in 11 events.  Saline boats placed third in two events at the Regatta which attracted more than 600 entries.   The team placed third in the Men’s High School Light weight 8 event in a tight race with only 30 seconds separating them from first place over a 5km course.  Team members in the Men’s Light Weight 8 boat were coxswain Heather Kinningham, Parry Ragland, Nate Cook, Jack Norgren, Ben Summers, Tim Carter, Brad Roberts, Jacob Carlson and Mitchell Dellot.  Overcoming a broken oar at the start line, the boat of Irene Kitromelides, Sarah Richter, Megan Hogan, Whitney Webb, Heather Kinningham, Katie Stimac, Randall Smith, Emilee VerDuin, and Marissa Tackatt placed third in the Women’s Open 8 event. The Saline Crew team finishes up the season at the American Heritage Regatta in Wyandotte, MI on November 1st.
